Born on April 9, among five siblings Maegan Aguilar is second to the eldest of the legendary Freddie Aguilar. Ever since she was a little girl, her parents Freddie and Josephine had an inkling that she was going to be in show business one day. At the tender age of five, she was enrolled in ballet. By seven she took organ and piano lessons. A year later she went back to dancing but this time it was jazz dance classes.
Her latest trial comes at a time when her singing career is on the upswing. Her new band Glass Cherry Breakers won the recent International Blues Challenge Philippine edition, a triumph that earned the band the right to represent the Philippines in the Memphis, Tennessee blues competition in January 2015. The band was scheduled to play in a bar in Quezon City Saturday evening before the alleged domestic violence happened.
