Who wants to be famous? Everyone of us wants to be famous. It is profitable to be famous. People will not steal the identity of some famous people in the internet for nothing. Moreover, companies are not going to spend millions or billions of money to make a certain product or brand well-known. And we will not probably desire our name or picture appears on news, magazines, articles, among others, if we cannot derive any sense of importance. To appear in a cover of a magazine is very much coveted by everybody. Thus, it gives a great deal of pleasure. Here is my list of the most coveted Pinay celebrity cover girls.
1. Marian Rivera
Marian Rivera (born Marián Gracia Rivera on August 12, 1984 in Madrid, Spain) is a Filipina commercial model and actress, known for her roles in Marimar, Dyesebel, Darna, Amaya and Temptation of Wife. As a recording artist, she has released two studio albums: the Marian Rivera Dance Hits and Retro Crazy. She has also starred in some movies such as: My Bestfriend's Girlfriend, Tarot, You to Me Are Everything, and Panday 2. In 2009, she ranked #5 in Manila Standard's "2009 Top Celebrity Endorsers", #3 in "Top 10 Most In-demand Celebrity Endorsers in 2010 and was also included in 2011's Top 20 Endorsers. She was hailed as FHM's Sexiest Woman in 2008 and recently, for the second time this 2013 dethroning Sam Pinto as the Sexiest Woman in the Philippines. Megan Lynne Young (born February 27, 1990) is an actress, a model, a VJ, a host and a beauty queen. She won the Miss World Philippines title and was later crowned as Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia. She is the first woman from the Philippines to win the title of Miss World. Young is currently a member of ABS-CBN's Star Magic. She is the elder sister of actress Lauren Young. She was crowned as Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia, making her the first Filipina to win the title of Miss World since its creation in 1951. During the preliminaries, she also won the "Top Model" competition, placed fourth in the "Multimedia Challenge" and fifth in the "Beach Beauty" contest. She also received the Continental Queen of Beauty title as Miss World Asia 2013, the highest ranked contestant in the Asian region. As Miss World 2013, she will be based in England for her activities. She is expected to visit 40 countries for charity work after her brief stay in the Philippines for the Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts.
3. Toni Gonzaga
Celestine Cruz "Toni" Gonzaga (born January 20, 1984), better known as Toni Gonzaga, is a Filipino singer, television host, and actress. She started her career in GMA Network then later moved to ABS-CBN in 2005. She hosts the entertainment talk show The Buzz, and the reality shows Pinoy Big Brother and The Voice of the Philippines. She is also a co-host and a performer in the musical variety show ASAP. She is a resident of Taytay, Rizal and the eldest daughter of Carlito and Crisanta Gonzaga, who also acts as her talent managers. Her sister is Catherine Gonzaga, also known as Alex Gonzaga, who is also an actress and television host. In Taytay, she was an elected Barangay Kagawad for one term and a Sunday school teacher in Taytay United Methodist Church. She studied Mass Communication at the Dominican College in San Juan, Rizal for two years. She came to prominence for her television roles as Alwina in the 2004 fantasy-themed television series Mulawin and as the superheroine Darna in the TV adaptation of the Mars Ravelo comics. Anne Ojales Curtis-Smith, also known as Anne Curtis-Smith or simply Anne Curtis (born 17 February 1985 in Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia), is a Filipino-Australian beauty queen, actress, television host, recording artist, and VJ in the Philippines. She had starred in several television series, which include Hiram (2004–2005), Kampanerang Kuba(2005), Maging Sino Ka Man (2006–2007) and Dyosa (2008), and has hosted the noontime show It's Showtime. As of 2014, she portrays the iconic Komiks character Dyesebel in Mars Ravelo's Dyesebel. She also starred in several films like No Other Woman (2011), which grossed Php 278 Million at the box office and her role in the film earned her a FAMAS Award for Best Actress. Bea Alonzo (Phylbert Angellie Ranollo Fagestrom in real life) was born on October 17, 1987 in Philippines. Her father is British, and her mother is a Filipina. Her parents separated when she was four. She graduated grade 7 at the Jose Abad Santos Memorial School Quezon City. She attended The Fisher Valley College in Taguig, Ususan Elementary School in Ususan and Colegio de Sta Ana in Nueva Ecija. In 2002, at age 15, Alonzo joined the TV drama Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay. She later mainly roled in major soap operas like It Might Be You, Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin, Maging Sino Ka Man and Maging Sino Ka Man: Ang Pagbabalik. In June 2008, she released her debut album The Real Me under Star Records. It was also in mid-2008 when it was announced that she would play the leading character Betty Pengson in the TV sitcom Yo Soy Betty La Fea, which originated from Colombia. Bianca Gonzalez (born March 11, 1983) is a Filipina TV host and model. Her first job in ABS-CBN was with production, where she was a brainstormer for the Creative Development Group. Currently, she is the editor-at-large at Meg Magazine and holds a Sunday lifestyle column, Ten Things You Should Know About at Philippine Star. On 11 February 2010, she was appointed a UNICEF Philippines Child Rights Supporter. She has supported UNICEF in a personal capacity since 2007, including fundraising for education activities. In December 2007, she raised PHP 36,000 through her blog website for UNICEF’s 100-book library program. As of March 2014, she is engaged to PBA player JC Intal.
