Changing names is a normal procedure when someone enters showbiz. It is regularly practiced for convenience. Some have already star studded names; thereby, a minor change has to be done with their birth names. Some have totally changed their birth names to the point of oblivion for the purpose of becoming one day famous stars in their own right. Here is my list of the real names of Filipina celebrities.
1. Bea Binene aka Beanca Marie Binene
Beanca Marie Binene, also known as Bea Binene (born November 4, 1997) is a Filipina actress. She was a finalist on Star Struck Kids and has played the role of Natalie Dimaculangan on First Time. She is also one of the Junior Child Ambassadors for the Haribon Foundation since 2005. She has participated in an acting workshop by Trumpets, where she played Molly in the production of Annie. She was in the GMA Network TV series Reel Love Presents: Tween Hearts playing the role of tough girl Belinda Fortes. She is also a regular host every Sunday in Good News Kasama si Vicky Morales on GMA News TV. Her first title role show with Jake Vargas was Alice Bungisngis and her Wonder Walis.
2. Julia Barretto aka Julia Francesca Barretto Baldivia
Julia Barretto is a Filipina actress, a talent of the television format ABS-CBN and the program Star Magic. She rose to prominence after being cast in ABS-CBN's Kokey, where she played the lead role of Anna Calugdan. She has successfully starred as the main protagonist of the 2014 melodrama fantasy series Mirabella.
3. Angel Locsin aka Angelica Locsin Colmenares
Angel Locsin (born Angelica Colmenares; April 23, 1985) is a Filipina television and film actress, commercial model, film producer and fashion designer. She came to prominence for her television roles as Alwina in the 2004 fantasy-themed television series Mulawin and as the superheroine Darna in the TV adaptation of the Mars Ravelo comics. She was a contract artist of GMA Network up to early 2007 until she transferred to its rival network, ABS-CBN. She then starred as Lyka in the television series Lobo, which earned her an International Emmy Award nomination for best performance. She later on starred in blockbuster films In The Name Of Love and One More Try for which she garnered critical acclaim for both performances. The two films earned her the Star Award for Movies for Movie Actress of the Year and the Box-Office Entertainment Award for Film Actress of the Year, winning both awards two consecutive years. In 2013, she won the FAMAS Award and the Film Academy of the Philippines Award for best actress for her performance in One More Try.
4.Andi Eigenmann aka Andrea Nicole Guck Eigenmann
Andrea Nicole Guck "Andi" Eigenmann (born June 25, 1990) is an actress and model from the Philippines. She is currently a contract artist under VIVA Artists Agency Inc. She is of Kapampangan, American, German, and Spanish descent. She is the daughter of actors Mark Gil and Jaclyn Jose, and is a half-sister of Sid Lucero, Gabby Eigenmann, Ira Eigenmann and Maxene Eigenmann. She graduated Elementary in 2004 and High School in 2008 at Miriam College in Katipunan, Quezon City. She is a college student at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in Taft Avenue Manila.
5. Janella aka Janella Maxine Desiderio Salvador
Janella Maxine Desiderio Salvador (born March 30, 1998) is a young actress and singer from the Philippines. She became popular for her role as Nikki from the daytime television drama Be Careful With My Heart, premiered at ABS-CBN. She is the daughter of actress-singer Jenine Desiderio and singer-songwriter Juan Miguel Salvador. She's under ABS-CBN's talent management Star Magic Batch 2013.
6. Janine Gutierrez aka Janine Marie Elizabeth de Leon Gutierrez
Janine Marie Elizabeth de Leon Gutierrez, known professionally as Janine Gutierrez (born October 2, 1989 in Quezon City, Philippines), is a Filipina actress, television host and commercial model. A graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in European Studies, she is currently a contract artist of GMA Network. Gutierrez, who belongs to a family of actors, got her mestiza looks from her half-Spanish father Ramon Christopher and half-American mother Lotlot de Leon. She is the eldest in a family of six. Her siblings include Jessica, Maxine and Diego. Her grandparents are Pilita Corrales and Eddie Gutierrez on her paternal side and Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon on her maternal side. Both of her paternal grandparents are half-Spanish while her mother Lotlot has an American biological father and was adopted.
7. Kaye Abad aka Katherine Grace Cosme Abad
Katherine Grace Cosme Abad (born May 17, 1982), better known as Kaye Abad, is an American-born Filipino actress. She is the sister of former child star Sarah Jane Abad-Contreras, who is now married to Kamikazee's lead singer, Jay Contreras. She is a member of ABS-CBN's Star Magic. She was launched as a member of Star Circle (now Star Magic Batch 3) in 1993.
