One of the three inherent powers of the state is its power to tax. Tax is the lifeblood of the nation. Since celebrities earn big amount of money from movies, shows, endorsements, etc., the tax they paid is much higher than that of the average Filipino people. Here is my list of the highest female celebrity taxpayers in the Philippines.
1. Kris Aquino
Kris Aquino was born in Quezon City, Philippines, to Corazon C. Aquino and Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. who was, at the time, a senator of the Ferdinand Marcos regime. She is the youngest of five children. In 1984 at age 12, she made her first TV appearance on Inday Badiday's See-Tru on GMA-7. She was the star of the short-lived comedy show ABS-CBN Luv Ko Si Kris. She finished her elementary school education at the Poveda Learning Center in Mandaluyong City, high school at the Colegio San Agustin-Makati, where she was classmates with Pinky Webb and Karen Davila. She graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. She made her film debut with actor-comedian Rene Requiestas in the comedy Pido Dida, which was a blockbuster hit and made her the box office queen for that year. She had a commercially steady, though critically panned, career and managed to score an acting nomination for The Fatima Buen Story. She starred in a film based on a true-to-life murder, the Vizconde Massacre. Its financial success, and successive crime films of the same vein in which she starred, gained her the nickname "Massacre Queen" by newspaper critics.
2. Sharon Cuneta
Sharon Cuneta was born on January 6, 1966, to parents, Pablo Cuneta (former mayor of Pasay City and mayor with the longest years of service in Philippine history) and Elaine Gamboa (sister of 60's Shingaling Sweetheart, Helen Gamboa). She has lived most of her early years in one of the exclusive villages in the South, Dasmarinas Village. She grew up surrounded by music, listening to her dad's record collection. During her early years, she made her first TV appearance in Kuya Ike Lozada's show, in the Bulilit portion, where she mimicked her Aunt Helen's songs. She was just as young when she appeared in her first movie, the Rosanna Ortiz-George Estregan starrer 'Lovers for Hire'. She played one of Roderick Paulate's playmates. She attended St. Paul University Manila and International School Manila for her primary to secondary education. She is the most expensive and effective product endorser in the country. She has endorsed a string of products, from fastfood chains to feminine wash, to detergent soaps to shipping lines.
3. Judy Ann Santos
Judy Ann Santos (born Judy Anne Lumagui Santos; May 11, 1978) is a Filipino film and television actress, host, product endorser, recording artist, and film producer. Born in Manila, Philippines, she is the daughter of Carolina Lumagui, a bank officer and Manuel Dayrit Santos, a businessman. She is the granddaughter of Victoria Dayrit-Santos, an eminent businesswoman and Miguel Santos, proprietor of the defunct Victoria Supermarket and Victoria Building in Caloocan, Philippines. She has two older siblings, brother Jeffrey (1971), an actor and politician, and Jacqueline (1975), a registered nurse. After her parents' separation in 1981, she and her siblings lived with their mother, who raised them single-handedly. When she was six years old, her mother left for Toronto, Canada, and worked as a personal care assistant to provide for their needs. She was educated at Assumption Convent, in Antipolo, Rizal and later moved to Our Lady of Peace, also in Antipolo. She attended secondary education at Mount Carmel College, in Quezon City, Philippines.
4. Anne Curtis
Anne Ojales Curtis-Smith, also known as Anne Curtis-Smith or simply Anne Curtis (born 17 February 1985 in Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia), is a Filipino-Australian beauty queen, actress, television host, recording artist, and VJ in the Philippines. She had starred in several television series, which include Hiram (2004–2005), Kampanerang Kuba(2005), Maging Sino Ka Man (2006–2007) and Dyosa(2008), and has hosted the noontime show It's Showtime. As of 2014, she portrays the iconic Komiks character Dyesebel in Mars Ravelo's Dyesebel. She also starred in several films like No Other Woman (2011), which grossed Php 278 Million at the box office and her role in the film earned her a FAMAS Award for Best Actress. Her other box-office hit films include Babe, I Love You (2010) and A Secret Affair (2012). Her other critically lauded roles were in the films Baler (2008) and In Your Eyes (2010). Throughout her career, she has received a Metro Manila Film Festival Award, three FAMAS Award nominations (winning one), three PMPC Star Award for Movies nominations, two Luna Award nominations (winning one), and six PMPC Star Award for TV nominations (winning two).
5. Sarah Geronimo
Sarah Geronimo was born on July 25, 1988 in Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines, to Delfin Geronimo, a retired Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company(PLDT) employee, and Divina Tua Geronimo, who ran a beauty parlor from the family home. She studied at Dominican School Manila. Her first performance was in a mall show when she was two years old. At the age of four, she made her first appearance on national television and was a member of the children's television show Pen-Pen de Sarapen for two years. At age six, she performed at a short concert at Isetann Cinerama on Recto Avenue in Manila. She sang for Pope John Paul II during his visit to the Philippines in 1995, when she was six. At the age of eight, her father enrolled her at the Center for Pop Music Philippines, where she received her first formal music and voice lessons. She performed in hotel lounges, on campuses, in shopping malls, and on a few TV shows. Around this time, she was part of the cast of the ABS-CBN children's show Ang TV. At the age of nine, she joined the cast of the TV show NEXT. She also played an extra in Star Cinema’s Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa. She stretched her prominence in media when she signed a deal with ABS-CBN Network in 2004. 6. Angelica Panganiban
Angelica Panganiban was born in Payatas on November 4, 1986. Her biological mother is a Filipina who died in 2008 and was buried in Singapore while her biological father, Mark Charlson is an American from Iowa, United States and a former member of the US Navy. She uses the surname Panganiban from her adoptive family. She finished elementary school in 1999 at St. Vincent in Teacher’s Village, Quezon City, and high school in 2003 at St. Vincent, West Avenue. She was the Junior-Senior Prom Princess in 2002 and Miss Junior and Senior Prom in 2003. She was a cheerleader and a Feature Editor in their school newspaper. She attended college at Thames International Business School, majoring in Mass Communication. Known for her versatility, her portrayals came in a range of genres from the variety of drama, horror, and comedy receiving critical praises and recognized by different award-giving bodies while enjoying commercial success. She is also highly regarded for her impeccable capability of playing both the protagonist and the antagonist at the same time.
7. Solenn Heussaff
Solenn Heussaff (born on July 20, 1985) is a French-Filipina VJ, actress, TV Host, model, singer, fashion designer, painter, and professional make-up artist. She was one of the official castaways of Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown which aired from August 30 to December 3, 2010 on GMA Network. She made it to the Final Three. In December 2010, she signed a recording contract with MCA Universal Philippines, a movie contract with Regal Entertainment, and a television contract with GMA Network and GMA Artist Center. She is the second child of Cynthia Adea, a Filipina, and Louis Paul Heussaff, a former French Marine of Breton descent, who is now the head of a service company for the petroleum industry. She has an older sister named Vanessa and a younger brother named Erwan. After graduating from Eurocampus (European International School of Manila), she went on to study fashion design in Studio Berçot, Paris for three years. She also took a 6-month course in basic beauty/fashion make-up, body painting, and prosthetics at Ecole Fleurimont, Paris. She then proceeded further studies at the Make Up Forever Academy.
8. Kim Chiu
Kimberly Sue Yap Chiu (born April 19, 1990) commonly known as Kim Chiu, is a Chinese Filipina actress. She is best known for her leading roles in dramas Sana Maulit Muli (2007), Tayong Dalawa (2009), Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo (2010), My Binondo Girl (2011), Ina, Kapatid, Anak (2013), Ikaw Lamang (2014), and in the film Bride for Rent (2014). She enjoys traveling, extreme sports, shopping, and recreational activities like equestrianism. The fourth child of five siblings, Chiu is Chinese-Filipino. She frequently moved residencies as a child, raised mainly in the Philippine Visayas; locating in Tacloban, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos City, Mindoro and back to Cebu City. Being multilingual, she can speak Cebuano, Tagalog, English, with some proficiency in Waray, Mandarin Chinese and Hokkien. Due to her family situation and her mother's abandonment when she was nine years old, she mostly grew up with her paternal grandmother and siblings. She attended Cebu Cherish School, joined various extracurricular activities and worked as a cashier in her aunt's boutique. Gaining much recognition for her acting roles, she then starred in the movie I've Fallen For You under Star Cinema and continually appeared in numerous advertisements.
