In the advent of information age, anyone, including female celebrities, can easily make a sex video of his or her intimate encounter. Some of them have gained instant notoriety, because the public was able to obtain copies of which from the internet without the consent of the aggrieved parties. Here is my list of the most notorious sex scandals involving Filipina female celebrities.
1. Neri Naig
Neri Naig (born 7 September 1985) is a Filipina actress. She was discovered after joining Star Circle Quest, a reality show of ABS-CBN in search of new actors and actresses and landed as the 6th runner-up. She joined Star Circle Quest but was not able to bag the title. After an absence of several years, she is now staging a career comeback with the help of her manager, Boy Abunda. Recently, she has been featured in shows like SCQ Reload: OK Ako!, Nasaan Ka Man, Ang Panday, Sana Maulit Muli, Ysabella and a vampire in Imortal. On August 3, 2013, a sex video of her became a viral hit that was shared in different blogs and social media sites.
2. Maricar Reyes
Maricar Reyes (born Maricar Concepcion Pozon Reyes; June 20, 1981), is a Filipino actress, model and general practitioner. She was born in Mabalacat City, Philippines. She graduated high school from St Bridget's School in Quezon City. She finished her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Ateneo de Manila University and studied medicine at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. She passed the medical licensure exam in 2008. She made her first public appearance following the sex video scandal on the musical variety show ASAP during Star Magic’s 17th anniversary celebration.
3. Katrina Halili
Katrina Halili (born Maria Katrina Iren Pe Halili on January 4, 1986) is a Filipina actress, commercial model and music producer. She made her screen debut via StarStruck, but became popular until playing the antagonist roles in Darna, Majika and MariMar and becoming the protagonist in One Night Only, Gagambino and Magdusa Ka. She is an alumna of the StarStruck talent search and the cover girl of leading magazines such as FHM and Maxim Philippines. She was voted as FHM Philippines' sexiest woman for the year 2006 and bagged the title yet again in 2007. She is the first StarStruck contestant to top the FHM Philippines' 100 Sexiest list and the only Filipina celebrity to have won the title twice in a row. She is a three-time FHM Philippines covergirl. In May 2009, a sex tape showing her and Dr. Hayden Kho, who was then in a relationship with Vicki Belo, was distributed over the internet without her consent. The dispute lasted a long time and resulted in a number of legal actions and with some endorsements being taken away from her.
4. Yosh Rivera
On September 2, 2013, a sex scandal of Yosh Rivera and Wally Bayola went viral in social media sites. The video, in which both of them are seen engaging in sexual intercourse, was uploaded onto YouTube that night. The video was immediately removed from the site but it was already circulated to other sites such as Facebook. After the scandal became known, it was reported that Wally Bayola would temporarily not be appearing on Eat Bulaga!, as stated by his manager, Malou Choa Fagar who said the comedian "will lie low from the program". She, on the other hand, has not appeared on Eat Bulaga! since the incident happened.
5. Janelle Manahan
Janelle was born in Albay to parents Maria Rosario Elvira Quintano and Julius Manahan who is a former radio announcer in their province. Ever since she was a child, her parents noticed her love for dancing, acting and singing. She got influenced by her father who is in Media. Her showbiz career started when she auditioned for Star Circle National Teen Quest, among the thousand to auditioned, she fortunately made it to Top 10, she was supposedly part of the FAB 5 (top 5) but due to wild card, Paw Diaz grabbed the spot and she finished her league to Top 6. After SCQ, she has been seen in some ABS-CBN shows like SCQ Reload: Ok Ako, ASAP Fanatics, Vietnam Rose. Then she changed her screen name to Janelle Quintana and been seen in shows like Your Song, MMK, Komiks among the others. She was best known for her role as the chubby chikadora named "Maffi" in ABS-CBN's sitcom Let's Go. In January 2012, an intimate video of her and Ram Revilla was leaked on the internet.
6. Criselda Volks
In late October 2008, the Net was abuzz with the fact that there were four video clips posted online showing sexy actress Criselda Volks and her boyfriend in an intimate moment. In a November 2, 2011 episode of the The Buzz, Volks owned up to the videos. She simply disclosed, "Kami 'yon ng boyfriend ko ng five years. Kami ang magkasama, so automatically siyempre nagbi-video-han kami (That's me and my boyfriend of five years. We're together so automatically we take videos of each other)." She emphasized that the videos were not intended for public consumption and that she and her boyfriend were victims of an online leak.
7. Ethel Booba
Ethel Gabison, also known by her stage name Ethel Booba, is a Filipino TV personality and comedienne. She has also worked in the recording industry. She was born on December 17, 1976 in General Santos City, South Cotabato, Philippines. She is the sister of Emyrose "Boobita" Gabison. Her mother is Emy Gabison. She is a former talent of GMA Network and was one of the hosts of Extra Challenge. She also guest judged for Kakaibang Idol, a special edition of Philippine Idol. Before becoming a star, she joined in the singing contest of ABC's, Sing Galing. She defended her title for four weeks and wore glamorous outfits each week. After she lost the title, she signed a contract under GMA Network. She also became one of the housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2. In 2005, a video clip of her surfaced involving her then boyfriend Alex Crisano in a private scene.
